How sheet metal corner reliefs are applied to the body in december 2013 we showed the new types of corner reliefs that were added with solidworks 2014. Enter relief size by bend radius ratio or force bend reliefs auto auto. Corner relief corner reliefs can be added to a sheet metal part from within the part s flattened state. Select a hard edge bend face flange face or 3d solid entire model.

When you add relief sheet metal sections are removed from the model. Bend relief synchronous sheet metal is pretty cool even cooler than just normal synchronous modeling if you ll excuse that word. For example if you make a partial flange as above using all the defaults the software makes relief cuts at the end of the bends as shown to the right. Select an item see the note below.

You can add a corner relief to a single sheet metal body. Type smreliefcreate in the command bar. In the corner relief propertymanager under scope select the sheet metal body to which to apply the corner relief. With the flat pattern activated select insert sheet metal corner trim or select it from the corner button on the command manager toolbar.

Under corners click collect all corners to list all corners in the sheet metal body. Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu. You can apply corner relief automatically to all corners or manually to individual sets of corners. Individual corners can be selected or collect all corners can be used.
